Volunteers Needed

Help make this year’s Early Juneteenth Holiday celebration a success! Join our team of volunteers to gain an opportunity to make new friends, enjoy a free meal, and give back to the community. If you are interested in volunteering, please take a look at the variety of roles and click on the Be a Volunteer button to complete a volunteer application

Volunteer Roles

Event Setup

Assists with setting up tables, chairs, putting up signs, adding tableclothes, hanging decorations, setting up youth and art rooms, hanging art, unloading materials,

Main Stage Assistants

Lead performers to check-in station. Guide performers to and from the stage. Assist guest speakers and performers on and off the main stage. Set up backstage, provides water and snacks for performers

Elder Guides

Assists an assigned elder during the event, provides assistance moving to various locations of the event, provides limited assitance helping with small tasks
 No proof of COVID test needed

Greeters

Greets guests, hands out programs, reminds guests to wear masks inside, keeps count of guests entering event, answers directional questions, hands out elder sashes

Art Room Assistants

Assists master artists with setting up art pieces, provides water and snacks for artists, provides needed supplies for artist for demos,  keeping supplies tidy, cleaning up spills, manages demo signups

Event Clean Up

Take Down: assists with clean up, removing decorations, removing signs, discarding trash, taking down art, boxing materials, loading boxes into vehicles

Information Center Staff

Provides information on events and activities within the schedule, assists with lost and found, manages raffle tickets

Youth Room Assistants

Manages assigned activity table, keeps youth tables tidy, supervises youth behavior, provides assistance with craft activities, participates in activities with youth, 

To Become a Volunteer

•    Please fill out and submit a volunteer application 

•    Attend one of the following volunteer orientation sessions at the
      Mary L. Stephens Branch Library 

o    Wednesday, May 18th from 6pm - 8pm  
o    Saturday, May 21st  from  11am - 1pm
